hmm....

So I'm in AK by my lonesome now... Interviewing isn't really that fun. And I'm not sure where to look for housing since I'm interviewing in different towns... and then how does one buy a car really, because I may be doing graphic or i may be serving beers. Those two people drive different cars.
Brendan got one of those light boxes before he headed down south. I've been using it in the morning but i don't really know if it helps at all. It sort of tenses up the side of my head behind my eye. Weird. So I'm going to be getting a camera up here pretty quick which should help some things out.
here's some shit that's cool.

I've started meeting some photographers so I can do some writing soon hopefully. Still trying to find East Clast transplants, which is a little slower going. Logging a lot of time in coffee shops.
Trying to keep my mind in it's right place.

Now I'm in Alaska.

Ok, so i moved! At last! But not to utah like i thought, instead to alaska. I've been here for three days not, and i'm not disapointed at all. This week I'll figure out the job thing, and hopefully the living thing. Just gonig along though. Three days and already three days riding at least for an hour or two. I hope that I'll convince at least one person to come up and visit, but i guess i won't be that surprised if no one does. Maybe if i keep putting up posts and photos it'll convince you people to get away from your humdrum and get some adrenaline in those viens.
here are some photos to get you motivated. this is the first three days, mind you.

oh waterville valley.

So here's where it all started... Boulder, Colorado... the beginning of the greatest part of my life and also the crux that made me never be able to fully appreciate where i grew up. i've been in maine for 15 months now... post graduation. i thought i'd stay for 2 or 3. Woops, my b. well... in my head i'm set to leave in a little over a month, so we'll see how that turns up.

i tried to get the mag to run this silly little bunny thing a couple months ago. they weren't as impressed as i was. come on, those rabbits are cute!

woops, haven't been posting.

me and finally have been spending evenings together lately, and i must say, she's really quite the dog. i've been spending a lot of time looking at http://www.draplindustries.com/ this guy has really done it all. i love the new feild notes notebooks, and all the pictures of his dog, gary. this guys is everywhere in graphic design.

today's thought:
it's funny how quickly a feeling of change can come. we get ourselves deep into rountines and responsibilities and as soon as we can lift away from them and look at ourselves from a broader angle we can know what's right. the more often we broaden our perspective the more we'll be happy in our everyday lives. maybe today i'll get a parking ticket. actually, today i'll probably get a parking ticket. it won't bother me.
living on the island has imensley helped me with this perspective. the people there are just going about thier lives, hard working and loyal to one another. it's a true sense of community. i'm incredibly lucky to have had that experience. but it wasn't mine, and now i'm off to find what is.
here are more photos from my time there.
